Dirty Purity Test: Inside the App's Two 18+ Modes

A dirty purity test is the adults-only take on the classic game: 100 questions about your love life, your dating history and the confessions you'd only make to someone you trust, for players 18 and up. In the Test de Pureté app it comes in two flavors, Hot and No Limit, and you play both anonymously. Same rules as always: your score out of 100 is the share of things you've never done.

What is a dirty purity test?

A dirty purity test is a regular purity test that skips the small talk. Instead of asking whether you've ghosted someone or danced on a table, it asks about your love life, your dating history and the stuff you'd only bring up with someone you trust. You tap “Done that” or “Never,” and the final score is the percentage of boxes you never ticked. 100 means squeaky clean. 0 means you've been busy.

The app's own pitch for Hot mode doesn't beat around the bush: you know exactly what it's about. We're not going to spell it out here either. Think of it as the spicy purity test you'd play with a partner on a Friday night, not the one you'd pull up at a family barbecue.

People search for it as an adult purity test, an 18+ purity test or a spicy purity test. Whatever you call it, it works the same way: a confession game between consenting adults, with a number at the end that judges nobody. It doesn't measure your worth as a person. It counts boxes. If you want to know what your number actually says, our breakdown of purity test scores walks through every range.

Hot vs No Limit: two adult modes, two levels

The app has two adults-only modes, Hot and No Limit. Each one has 100 questions, and both sit at the top of the intensity scale.

  • Hot: your love life and your dating history, played for laughs. It's the crowd-pleaser of the adult modes, flirty and teasing, built to make you blush and grin in equal measure.
  • No Limit: topics that are explicitly for adults only, the kind you don't bring up on a first date. Its tagline says it all: “What happens here stays here. Promise.”

Which one should you start with?

If you're on the fence, start with Hot. It's the on-ramp, and you'll know pretty fast whether you want to turn things up. Short version: Hot is the night that gets a little out of hand. No Limit is the one nobody mentions at brunch the next day.

You don't have to pick just one. You can play Hot one night and save No Limit for later, just to see how your two scores stack up. And if you want the whole thing in one go, both modes are baked into the 700-question ultimate purity test, which strings together all seven other modes, from Chill to No Limit.

Why the dirty purity test is app-only

You won't find a Hot preview on this website. The adult modes live in the app only, and there are three good reasons for that.

First, age. The app is built for adults, while a public website can end up in front of anyone. Second, anonymity. In the app, none of your answers are tied to who you are, and the base modes don't need an account. Third, discretion. Nothing gets posted unless you decide to post it, so your answers won't land on social media because you fat-fingered a button.

The free six-question preview on this site only covers Chill, Squad and Couples. You can warm up with it on the homepage, but for the adult stuff you'll need to grab the free Test de Pureté app on iOS or Android.

Playing the adult purity test solo or as a couple

You can take the dirty purity test alone out of pure curiosity, or with a partner for the conversation it kicks off.

Solo, it's a private gut check with no audience. Answer honestly, see your number, and nobody else ever has to know. The app keeps a score history, so you can see how things change over time, if you're into that.

As a couple, it's a different game. You each play on your own phone, then the compare feature puts your two scores side by side. The rest is up to you: guess each other's answers, share whatever you feel like sharing. That's usually where the real conversation starts, along with the laughing. Want to ease in first? The purity test for couples is a gentler warm-up before you go Hot.

With a group of friends? Sure, as long as everyone's over 18 and actually into it. If half the room just met, Squad mode is usually the safer bet.

The ground rules: 18+, consent and respect

The adult modes are for adults who actually want to play. That's the one real rule, and it isn't up for debate.

Nobody has to show their answers, or even their score. Suggesting the test is an invitation, not a summons: “no thanks” means no thanks, and a score can stay private forever. The whole thing only works because everyone picks what they share.

The story-format score card the app generates at the end shows your score and your verdict, nothing else. Not a single answer. So you can post it without worrying that a detail of your love life will pop up in your coworker's feed. Curious what this website does with your data? Short answer: nothing. The long answer is in our privacy policy.

What your 18+ purity test score does and doesn't say

Your dirty purity test score is the percentage of things you've never done. Nothing more. It says zero about whether you're a good person.

A 90 doesn't make you a saint and a 20 doesn't make you a menace. Every range gets a verdict, from Choir Kid at 80 to 100 all the way down to Wolf in Sheep's Clothing below 10. They're jokes, not judgments. The app also shows how you stack up against the overall average, the average for each mode and the average for your age group, which is great for perspective or for bragging rights.

FAQ

Everything people ask us

Is the dirty purity test only for adults?

Yes. Hot and No Limit are for adults only, and so is the Test de Pureté app as a whole, which is built for players 18 and over. That's also why neither adult mode shows up in the free preview on this site, which sticks to Chill, Squad and Couples. No exceptions: if someone in the room is under 18, this isn't their game.

Can I play the adult purity test without leaving a trace?

As far as your identity goes, yes. In the app, your answers aren't linked to who you are, and the base modes work without an account. Nothing gets posted unless you choose to post it. Even the shareable score card only shows your number and your verdict, never your answers. So you can take the dirty purity test without your confessions ending up in front of anyone else.

What's in Hot mode?

Hot mode has 100 questions about your love life, dating and relationships. The tone is the same as the rest of the app: teasing and funny, designed to make you blush rather than cringe. You answer “Done that” or “Never” to each one, and your score out of 100 is the share of things you've never done. The actual questions are something you'll discover in the app.

What's the difference between Hot and No Limit?

Both have 100 questions and both are adults only. Hot keeps things light and playful, so it's the natural place to start. No Limit goes further, into topics that are explicitly for grown-ups, the kind most people keep to themselves. If you can't decide, play Hot first and move on to No Limit if you're still curious.

Can you play the adult purity test with friends?

Sure, with two conditions: everyone's over 18, and everyone actually wants to play. Each person answers on their own phone, and nobody has to show their answers or even their score. If the group barely knows each other, start with the purity test for friends instead. It gets the laughs going without making anyone squirm.

Can couples take the dirty purity test together?

Yes, and it's exactly what the compare feature is good for. You each answer on your own phone, then the app lines up your two scores, never your answers. One simple rule: only play if you're both genuinely up for it, and either of you can keep the details to yourself.
