The ultimate purity test by the numbers
Ultimate mode has 700 questions: all 100 questions from each of the app's seven other modes, back to back. Seven times a hundred, no calculator needed. The app labels it “All modes,” and it means it literally.
The rules don't change. You answer “Done that” or “Never,” and your final score is still out of 100: the percentage of things you've never done. The only difference is that the percentage is calculated over 700 situations instead of 100. Here's what you're signing up for:
- Chill: the warm-up, everyday little cop-outs.
- Squad: parties, badly kept secrets and group chat drama.
- Couples: jealousy, exes and forgotten anniversaries.
- Money: your creative relationship with cash.
- Trash: the nights that went sideways.
- Hot: your love life, adults only.
- No Limit: topics that are explicitly for grown-ups.
Who is a 700-question purity test for?
The ultimate purity test is for people who want one score that covers everything, not just one corner of their life. In practice, that's three kinds of players.
First, the curious ones who've already played two or three modes and want to see the full picture. Second, the long-night crowd: when your group has burned through Squad mode and nobody's ready to call it a night, Ultimate goes the distance. Third, the completionists, the people who 100% every video game and don't consider a test finished until they've beaten the final boss.
If you're brand new to purity tests, this probably isn't where to start. A single 100-question mode, or even the free six-question preview on our homepage, gives you the vibe without committing your whole evening.
Why a 700-question score tells you more
The more questions a test asks, the more its score reflects your whole life instead of one little corner of it. That's the entire point of going long.
One of the earliest tests of this kind, printed in 1924 by Rice University's student paper, had just 10 questions, as The Rice Thresher recounts. With 10 questions, one answer moves your score by 10 points. With 100, by one point. With 700, by about a seventh of a point, so one wild night barely moves the needle.
More importantly, a score on one mode only tells part of the story. You can be a total choir kid in Money mode and a full-on wolf in Trash. Ultimate averages all of that out, along with everything else. Once you're done, our guide to reading your purity test score explains what each range means.
How to tackle the longest purity test
The easiest way to get through 700 questions is in stages: play the modes one at a time before you go for the full run. A few tips so you don't burn out halfway:
- Start with Chill to warm up. It's the gentlest mode, and it gets you into the “Done that” or “Never” rhythm.
- Turn up the heat gradually: Squad and Money first, then Couples, Trash, Hot and No Limit. You'll know at each step whether you want to keep going.
- Once you've cleared every mode, save a real evening for Ultimate, somewhere comfy, with drinks and snacks within reach. There's no rush: the goal is to laugh, not to set a record.
- Answer fast and answer honestly. Overthinking every one of 700 questions turns a fun night into a marathon.
- Play with someone. You each go on your own phone, then the compare feature puts your scores side by side. Over 700 questions, that's a lot of stories to trade, just like the purity test for friends but supersized.
Adult content included: Ultimate is 18+ only
Because it includes Hot and No Limit, the ultimate purity test is adults only, like the rest of the app. If you want a marathon without the adult content, play the other five modes one by one instead.
Same goes for group sessions: if not everyone around you is up for the adult part, stick with a tamer mode. For a heads-up on what to expect, our page on the dirty purity test describes both modes without getting graphic. And like everywhere in the app, the story-format score card only shows your score and verdict, never your answers.
After question 700: your verdict, card and ranking
When you finish the ultimate purity test, you get a score out of 100, a verdict and a shareable card, just like every other mode.
Verdicts run from Choir Kid at 80 to 100 down to Wolf in Sheep's Clothing below 10, with Casual Fibber, Excuse Master and Certified Liar in between. The auto-generated story card shows that score and verdict, and not one of your answers. The app also saves the result to your score history and lets you see how it compares with the overall average, the average for each mode and the average for your age group. After 700 questions, you've earned the bragging rights.
Looking for a 500- or 1,000-question purity test?
Ultimate mode has exactly 700 questions. Not 500, not 1,000. If you've been hunting for a 500-question or 1,000-question purity test, this is the longest one the app offers, and it lands right between the two.
The number isn't random. It's simply seven full modes added together. Each block of 100 keeps its own theme and tone, so it never feels like an endless list. Want a taste first?
